Performance Update!

The official start date of the DTM5 was May 15, 2020. So, we’ve just passed our 1 year anniversary! How time flies, and what a year it has been. We’ve seen rocketing and crashing crypto markets. We’ve seen presidential elections. We’ve seen roiling currency markets. We’ve seen tech market rallies and declines. Its been exhilarating. Not to mention a global freaking pandemic!!

This is a performance snapshot for the original DTM5 started May 15, 2020, for which we have one year of data. I note there are several ‘other’ DTM5 accounts running – The DTM5-C (Corporate Accounts) and the DTM5-R (Retirement Accounts). The other accounts were not started until January 2021; And their composition differs from the DTM5 but share similar strategy. I will comment on those in the future but for now my performance reporting will continue to be focused on the ‘Original’ DTM5

There are two rates of return

  1. Since Inception, which is the simple % change in the value of the portfolio, and
  2. Time Weighted, which takes into account the timing of deposits into the account
Since inception – 12 Month43.97%
Money weighted – 12 Month109.83%
DTM5 Performance May 15, 2020 > May 14, 2021

Its been a good year! As a reminder, the DTM5 is a ‘averaging in’ strategy. It is being funded on an ongoing basis, roughly in equal amounts each month. So, I’m very pleased with the 43.97% simple ROR, which represents a time weighted growth rate of over 100%. Hey, it isn’t always going to look this good. I expect the numbers I report at June 30th will be weaker. But, overall, I’m very happy with the first 12 months of the strategy.

I’ll have a more detailed breakdown of the portfolio and performance numbers at my semi annual update, which will be published on the ‘Investments & Performance’ page, after June 30th.

GLTA!
